Democracy is never a thing done. Democracy is always something that a nation must be doing.
~Archibald MacLeish, American poet

The State of Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, is wrought daily with the struggle to survive in the midst of looming terror in and around its borders and rising anti-Israel propaganda in the international media. While faced with constant existential threats and the struggle to preserve its legitimacy among the nations, our battle to reinforce and strengthen its democratic nature is of vital importance. Jerusalem Institute of Justice (JIJ) endeavors to be a voice for Israel while advancing democracy, civil rights, and religious freedom within the land through the following advocacy projects:  Advancing Israel's Public Relations, Combating Human Trafficking, Safeguarding Civil Rights, and Spearheading the Freedom to Marry Initiative. Through continued advocacy on both the national and international level, JIJ helps to combat injustice, defend the powerless, and improve Israel’s diplomacy worldwide.
